A look back at this year's festival.
Walking and Cycling Trails of the
Leeds-Liverpool Canal
Wigan Tourism Unit has launched three brand new trails of the
Leeds-Liverpool Canal. The tours form part of the wider Manchester's
Countryside Initiative which in partnership with Bolton, Bury, Rochdale
and Oldham, looks to raise awareness of and encourage visits to the
rural attractions of North Manchester - which offers up over 500 square
miles of wonderful landscapes, historic and picturesque waterways,
hidden gems of villages, quaint places to eat and drink and fantastic
opportunities for rural pursuits, whether walking or cycling.
The new Wigan trails offer tow-path based routes combining natural
history and heritage. They include: Wigan Pier to Arley Hall, Wigan Pier
to Appley Bridge and Wigan Pier to Leigh Bridge.

Tourist Information Centre
The new Tourist Information Centre provides both visitors and
locals with a whole host of information about Wigan, the North West and the UK.
The Centre is also a booking office for local events,
National Express Coaches,
Ticket Master, Superbreaks, Greyways Coaches, Millennium Travel and can provide
details of out-of-town events, such as theatre, music, arts, comedy and
heritage. A selection of gifts, souvenirs and postcards are on sale in the
Centre to remind you of what we are sure will have been a wonderful time.
