Festival of everyday creativityExhibition for Alicia: A Place to Come and to Feel Good 

This exhibition is dedicated to Clay Club member Alicia, who passed away this year. Her words, now the title of the show, reflect the group’s gratitude, connection, and shared memories, imagined as a garden of colour, hope, and reflection. Clay Club is a weekly ceramics group for those facing barriers to the arts. It offers a space for creative expression, connection, and wellbeing, where a strong sense of community has flourished.

Join us for a special Festival edition of Mini Makers, an interactive art workshop designed for under 5s to explore creativity through hands-on activities like collage, painting, and printing.

From hands-on workshops to live performances and community celebrations, the Festival of Everyday Creativity is all about showcasing local talent and bringing people together through fun, creative experiences. Get ready to be inspired! Come along and celebrate the amazing creativity that’s part of everyday life in our community.

Festival of everyday creativityInteractive African drumming and singing (as part of the Fun at the Park! programme) 

Feel the beat and join the rhythm in this uplifting live performance by Godfrey Pambalipe of Pambalipe Arts. Blending powerful African drumming, singing, and storytelling, Godfrey will take to the stage solo - but you won’t just be watching! This interactive performance invites the audience to take part, creating a shared musical experience that celebrates connection, culture, and creativity.

Enjoy the cheerful sounds of the Wigan Ukulele Club as they bring a set full of charm, catchy tunes, and community spirit to the Festival of Everyday Creativity. This much-loved local group will fill the air with toe-tapping melodies and familiar favourites. The perfect soundtrack for a relaxed and joyful day.

Festival of everyday creativityShort-films Night by Northern Heart Films

A programme of short films organised by Wigan-based organisation Northern Heart Films. This special selection showcases locally produced shorts exploring the festival’s theme of Everyday Creativity. Featuring stories that not only highlight creative subjects but also reflect imaginative and original approaches to filmmaking itself.

Short films line-up will be announced soon! Which will include an introduction by one of the filmmakers.

This exhibition explores everyday folklore, memories, and personal stories created by participants in Everyday’s workshops. The works reflect family histories, personal tales, and the legends that shape our identities. The title is a quote from Clay Club member Alicia, who passed away this year. The exhibition also features For Alicia: A Place To Come and To Feel Good, a tribute display made by Clay Club members in her memory.
