With miles upon miles of beautiful greenspace stretching right across Wigan Borough there’s plenty of adventures to be had this Easter and it doesn’t have to break the bank! So, pop on your wellies and get ready to explore the borough’s greenheart and tuck into some tasty treats along the way!
Pennington Flash Nature Reserve, Leigh (parking charges apply)
Thanks to a recent investment of almost £3m, Pennington Flash - one of the only National Nature Reserves in the whole of Greater Manchester, has become a popular destination with visitors. Recent investments include an accessible and inclusive nature-themed adventure play area and The Hide Coffee House which is serving up special Easter-themed treats including mini egg milkshakes, waffles and pancakes. A fantastic day out for little explorers and those with a sweet tooth!
And that’s not all. Blending nature and spoken word you can listen to Pennington Flash’s poetry trail. Don’t forget your headphones for this one! You never know… a lap around this stunning nature reserve may spark some creativity within you!
Haigh Hall, Haigh (parking charges apply)
One of the North West’s top visitor destinations, Haigh Hall is a hit with families. From the huge adventure play area, to adventure golf and high ropes – there really is something for everyone! Pop into the chocolate shop for some tasty easter treats and head over to the stables gallery to paint some easter decorations!
