Armed Forces DayArmed Forces Day

Wigan Town Centre all day. Parade begins at Mesnes Park at 11am.

Show your support and thanks to our service men and women as they parade with pride accompanied by live music. Enjoy a day of FREE family entertainment with stalls, fairground attractions, military vehicles and armed forces themed music and acts.

A spectacular FREE two-day street festival coming to Wigan this summer.

The weekend will begin with a huge parade of giant puppets, bringing colour and carnival to our streets. Established artists will bring high-quality entertainment, DJs, and catwalks, alongside street art, face painting and community performances. Come and experience the exciting displays and listen to the sounds that celebrate the unique history of music and entertainment from across the Wigan Borough.From Cinemas and Local Legends to Brass Bands, Jazz and Northern Soul this exhibition brings to life the incredible range of musical genres our towns have embraced and called their own. Expect to see and hear the very best with original objects and music from Wigan Casino, George Formby, The Verve, Buzzcocks and much more. This engaging, interactive, family-friendly exhibition has something for everyone and your musical memories will come flooding back!

An amazing new family-friendly exhibition in the archives at Leigh Town Hall showcases the astonishing stories that make up the local history of the borough. There is lots to explore, from stories from Miss Weeton’s diaries of Wigan life in the 17th Century, to Leigh’s First World War Victoria Cross recipient; Alfred Wilkinson.

When: Every Tuesday - Saturday: 10am - 4pm
