Drumcroon Collection

Drumcroon Education Arts Centre opened in 1980 and gained national acclaim for work in visual arts education. Part of its mission was to give local children access to original artworks by a range of artists. The Drumcroon Collection includes prints, paintings, drawings, textiles and objects purchased from or donated by many artists over the years and includes works by some established British artists, including Patrick Heron, Victor Pasmore, Elisabeth Frink and many more. The Turnpike Gallery is delighted to showcase the most significant exhibition to date of over 50 works from the collection.

Wigan and Leigh Short Film Festival 2025

Celebrating and showcasing up-and-coming talent from across the world.  This event will be screening the following categories; Best North West Film, Best Animation Film, Best Comedy Film and Best Drama Film. The audience will be able to vote in real time after all the films are screened for the 'Audience Choice' award as well. Only audience members aged 16 and over are allowed entry.

Last Night of the Proms

By popular demand, St Michael’s and All Angels Church are presenting their first Proms concerts, featuring Pemberton Old Wigan DW Championship Band. Enjoy a mixed programme of wonderful music, ending with audience participation of singing and flag waving to the patriotic music of the Proms finale.

Pumpkin Picking at Grange Farm

Get Ready for a Spooktacular Day Out at our annual pumpkin picking festival. It is more than your average pumpkin picking and it's back bigger and better! The Accrington Pals

This lyrical and poignant play is set in Accrington during 1914-16. The “Pals” are the men from the local volunteer battalion who march high-spiritedly off to the Great War. Their experiences in the trenches contrast starkly to the women they left behind. A heart wrenching story of courage of brothers in arms and the endurance and resilience of those at home. This amateur production is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD a Concord Theatrical Company.

The Wigan Pub Walk is firm favourite in our calendar, so we wanted to do one in Leigh too! A fabulous fundraising 5Km walk through Leigh from the Sports Village to The Canal Turn! Venues have confirmed their support, and many will be putting on special offers for all our walkers showing their event wristbands.

Creepy Crawlies

Creepy Crawlies are coming to Haigh this Halloween… get ready for a spooktacular Creepy Crawly takeover! Join us for a frightfully fun hands on encounter  filled with real-life bugs, perfect for little explorers and brave grown-ups alike! Costumes are encouraged whether they're creepy, crawly, or just plain cute! All children must be accompanied by primary ticket holder.

Greenslate Farm Enchanted Woodland Quest

Embark on an enchanted Halloween quest! Journey through a bewitched woods, visiting six mystical stations. Family Firework Spectacular

The annual Haigh Fireworks Spectacular returns, with a bumper evening of entertainment planned for the whole family. You’ll find a food village, DJ Luke and merchandise stalls throughout the evening. Ponts fair will also be open until 7.15pm.

Scotman's Flash: Outdoor watersports

Adventure golf at Haigh

Show you're king or queen of the course with an unforgettable adventure golf experience at Haigh Woodland Park. This 18 hole adventure golf course offers many challenges and obstacles to test your skills. You can take a ride on the Viking boat, challenge yourself by putting through a tree stump vortex hole, or simply indulge in the stunning views that make this adventure golf course like no other. No need to book in advance (unless you're a group of 13 or more, see group bookings below), just turn up and pay at the Visitor Centre to play a game.
