Wigan Pride promotes and celebrates equality and diversity by bringing together arts, music, street parade and positive messages at a big annual event in Wigan. The parade is an opportunity for you to get involved with Wigan’s most successful LGBTQ+ event. Join the hundreds of people marching proudly together through the town and thousands of supporters cheering us along the way.

In a breakthrough moment for Rugby League, the men's, women's and wheelchair games will come together for the first time on the sport's biggest stage. The England 2021 tournament will now take place in October-November 2022 and Wigan and Leigh are proud to be hosting a number of fixtures.

When: Saturday 15th October to Saturday 19th November 2022

Venue: Leigh Sports Village and DW Stadium

Cost: RLWC2021 will be inclusive, accessible and affordable with ticket prices starting at £2.21 for concessions and £10 for adults. More than 80 per cent of tickets are priced below £50 and a family of four can attend a match during half-term for just £35.

An amazing new family-friendly exhibition at Leigh Town Hall showcases the astonishing stories that make up the local history of the borough. There is lots to explore, from stories from Miss Weeton’s diaries of Wigan life in the 17th Century, to Leigh’s First World War Victoria Cross recipient; Alfred Wilkinson.

When: Every Tuesday - Saturday: 10am - 4pm

Venue: Wigan and Leigh, Leigh Town Hall, Civic Square, Leigh, WN7 1DY

Visitors will experience new large scale dynamic displays, a programme of talks and events, and regular family-friendly activities. There is also dedicated space to relax, sit and watch old game footage, enjoy spending time with others and sharing memories and stories. Themes of the exhibition will range from the history of the game and the sport’s link to the identity of Wigan and Leigh, to the women’s game, disability rugby and grassroots and amateur clubs.

When: Now until 19th November 2022, Tuesday - Saturday: 10am - 4pm
