The boroughs annual Frost Festival calendar is packed full of family-friendly events to help get you in the festive spirit.
With Christmas markets, parades, musical entertainment, Santa himself and so much more, there really is something for the whole family to enjoy. Find out what is happening this Christmas in the Borough.
What's in Store
Our interactive and family friendly exhibition will showcase over 400 amazing artefacts from the museum collections - from costume to fine art and machinery. Explore our treasures from the familiar to the mysterious including the revamped Roman and Egyptian displays.

Leisuretec presents Russell Watson
Russell Watson never imagined he would someday be hailed as one of the world’s greatest classical singers. Since being described by the New York Times as a performer "who sings like Pavarotti and entertains the audience like Sinatra" he subsequently released ten studio albums, each one receiving more critical acclaim than the last. In 2025, he'll be performing, live in Wigan for one night only, full details below.

Catch-as-Catch-Can Wrestling Exhibition
Did you know that Wigan was long known as a hot bed of wrestling? Discover the history of the unique Catch-as-Catch-Can wrestling style, and the stories of the fighters keeping the sport alive.
When: Tuesday - Friday, 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-2pm

Wigan Little Theatre events
Wigan Little Theatre is based on Crompton Street, just outside of the town centre. They have been keeping local theatregoers entertained for over 70 years with an endless list of popular productions, all organised by a team of dedicated volunteers. 2024 will be no different with a line up that includes Home, I’m Darling, A Bunch of Amateurs and Cinderella to name a few. Sunday Jazz in Wigan
Bringing quality local, national and international jazz to the North West for over 30 years. Each event takes place on the last Sunday of every month, with occasional special guests.

Archives: Wigan & Leigh Exhibition
An amazing new family-friendly exhibition in the archives at Leigh Town Hall showcases the astonishing stories that make up the local history of the borough. There is lots to explore, from stories from Miss Weeton’s diaries of Wigan life in the 17th Century, to Leigh’s First World War Victoria Cross recipient; Alfred Wilkinson.
