Wigan Comic Con by NWCC Events
Attention all comic book and superhero fans! Get ready for an epic day out with your family and friends at Wigan Comic Con 2024. Rub shoulders with your favourite heroes, take selfies with your beloved characters, and indulge in all things comic book related. The event promises to be a fun-filled day with exciting activities, games, and stalls.

England RL v France Wheelchair Rugby
England Wheelchair kick off a huge weekend of rugby league in Wigan when they host their oldest and fiercest rivals France at Robin Park Arena. The two nations have met on 22 occasions, with France currently holding a 13-9 advantage against England. There have been several memorable meetings between the two sides in recent years – none more so than their unforgettable Rugby League World Cup Final clash, where England were crowned Wheelchair World Champions.

England RL v Samoa
England will face Samoa this autumn in a two-match Test series sponsored by ABK Beer – with their first match taking place at The Brick Community Stadium, Wigan, on Sunday 27 October. The two-match Test series, Samoa's first in England, offers Head Coach Shaun Wane and his team an opportunity to avenge the bitter disappointment of their World Cup Semi Final defeat in November 2022.

Wigan Borough’s 50th Anniversary photo exhibition which celebrates the people, places and communities that have shaped the character of our borough over the past 50 years. Curated with Wigan & Leigh college students and supported by Wigan Council, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Archives: Wigan and Leigh and the Open Eye Hub. Part of Wigan Borough’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Join Tony and his band for a commemoration of his milestone age and a triumphant 50+ year career. Our interactive and family friendly exhibition will showcase over 400 amazing artefacts from the museum collections - from costume to fine art and machinery. Explore our treasures from the familiar to the mysterious including the revamped Roman and Egyptian displays.

Leisuretec presents Russell Watson
Russell Watson never imagined he would someday be hailed as one of the world’s greatest classical singers. Since being described by the New York Times as a performer "who sings like Pavarotti and entertains the audience like Sinatra" he subsequently released ten studio albums, each one receiving more critical acclaim than the last. In 2025, he'll be performing, live in Wigan for one night only, full details below.

Wigan Little Theatre events
Wigan Little Theatre is based on Crompton Street, just outside of the town centre. They have been keeping local theatregoers entertained for over 70 years with an endless list of popular productions, all organised by a team of dedicated volunteers. 2024 will be no different with a line up that includes Home, I’m Darling, A Bunch of Amateurs and Cinderella to name a few. Archives: Wigan & Leigh Exhibition
An amazing new family-friendly exhibition in the archives at Leigh Town Hall showcases the astonishing stories that make up the local history of the borough. There is lots to explore, from stories from Miss Weeton’s diaries of Wigan life in the 17th Century, to Leigh’s First World War Victoria Cross recipient; Alfred Wilkinson.
